Grounded in research

The EROS-Q is built on peer-reviewed research in relationship science, sexual communication, and self-expansion theory.

The six domains map directly to bodies of empirical literature on what predicts sustained sexual satisfaction, desire, and intimacy in long-term couples. The instrument draws on research in self-expansion theory, implicit theories of sexuality, sexual communication, post-sex affection, erotic novelty, and relational equity.

This is not a clinical tool. It is an educational instrument — designed to give couples a language and a framework for conversations they may not have had yet.

The EROS Quotient is designed for educational and self-guided use. It is not a clinical diagnostic tool. For clinical sexual dysfunction, desire disorders, or trauma history, we recommend consultation with a licensed sex therapist before using the report as a guide.
